I have noticed this in the past - After a while my Browser starts
getting slow to load web pages. I am running Win XP SP2 and patched
up to date.

When I first turn it on my home page is Google, it take a long time to
finish loading and I cannot go to another web page until all of the
page is loaded. Even if I hit the STOP button.

I see the message in the bottom left hand corner that states some many
items are loading.

In the past when I have blown away my hard drive and reloaded the
whole system this has corrected the problem.

I have anti spy ware loaded, up to date and running.

I have tested the speed of my DSL and it is 1.2 MBps.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Ron

Hi,
Some possibilities:
Delete the Temporary Internet Files folder. See:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm Windows will create a new TIF
folder. Set it's size to 50-60 MB.

No one program removes all varieties of malware. Try any two of these online
scans:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Scanners.htm
And work through these programs:
Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) Still in beta testing, but removing a
lot of malware.
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx
CWShredder http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Ad-aware http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd

Some malware needs to be removed manually. See references to HijackThis at

Hope this helps,

In the past I have not deletd the Offline Content.

You're welcome. I'm glad that the quick, easy fix was the one that worked.
