Browser problem

I have a friend who sometimes uses IE6, Netscape, or MSN Explorer. But,
many times when she tries to open a hotlink she gets the following error
message "This program must close to allow the previous installation to
complete. Please restart."

When I Google this phrase, I see lots of references to Mozilla or Firefox
but she has never installed any of those programs.

Any help will be appreciated.
