The site is www.day120.com and the link is the "Download Catalog" at the
bottom of the left frame.

If I right-click on the link and choose save-as, the file downloads fine.

But if I just click on the link, it seems to start downloading, but then
stalls, or finally completes and Acrobat never launches. It's a 7MB file so
ideally I'd like the first page to load ASAP and the rest of the file to
download as needed or at least continue in the background. Isn't this how it
works on most sites?

Many thanks in advance if you know the answer to this one!

-Bob

I think it downloads the whole file; then displays it, not 'as you go' as
you're asking.

The whole pdf file must load before it opens. And 7mb is humongous!!! It
may have problems.

You can probably optimize that catalog a little by reducing some of the graphics, try to get the pdf to a smaller size. Another thought is to ..zip it, that would force it to download and have to be saved to then opened...at least the view could carry on surfing your pages while it downloads. At present even on a dsl connection it takes forever to load, and once loaded it takes forever (again) to browse the pages. (but it does eventually open).

If Adobe doesn't launch, then you need to re-install it.

I downloaded in about a minute and it open just fine in Adobe Reader 7.0

Also set the link to open in a new window, and tell users that it is 7 MB and will take some time
depending on their download connection speed.
