Any site i visit which checks for browser compatibility cannot identify which
browser im using.. I have sp2 and all patch upto date. I also tried other
browsers such as firefox and opera but still my browser info is not sent,
which results me in unable to access some critical pages. Anyone know what
the problem is? and how do i fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
It's likely that a third-party security program is blocking your
browser/user agent information. Disable (as a test) your firewall or other
programs that might be causing this. Norton Internet Security (in
particular) can cause problems with XP SP2.

Some other possible culprits might be AdSubtract, Proxomitron, Webwasher,
etc.

Reconfiguring or reinstalling the offending program may resolve this.
