Hello all,

I have this strange behavior an more than one machine but not on all my
machines.

If I start an explorer window, let's say on C:\Program files, it shows up.
If I click on the address bar and start changing something but don't press
enter, after 5 seconds it reverts back to c:\Program Files. That happens
even if I opened another windows and that the browser is net having focus.
It's as if I was refreshing the browser windows. This happens every 4-5
seconds.

I'm going crazy on this one... any insight?

How does this pertain to *Internet* Explorer?

I believe so because the behavior is the same with web sites... If I go to a
site, start typing something in the address bar and just give focus to some
other windows and wait, it refreshes the browser window and the address bar
ges back to it's former address

Can't suggest much without knowing your Windows version, other than...

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to
http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, or other appropriate forums for review
by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
