What does the "Browse Master" setting do under the network properties for
Microsoft printer and files sharing? Will it harm anything to disable it?

Thanks,

Dave Lamar

In Windows 95/98/Me, it determines whether a computer can become the
"Browse Master" for the workgroup. That's the computer that maintains
the list of computers that appears in Network Neighborhood. As long
as there's one computer with Browse Master set to Automatic or
Enabled, you can set the rest to Disabled.
