Al my computers in my mixed lan network can not access to
"network neighborhood" , or "computer near to my" , but
all of them can share resources and each one can ping to
any computer in the lan bi ip or name,

So i figured out that the problem is MASTER BROWSER and
check my win2k server and workstations , I sure that the
problem is in the server cause when i turn it off , all
computers can access the "network neigh..." and "computers
near..".

Can somebody help me.

Hello,

What is SERVER: 2141? Is it the domain controller?
Do you have a WINS server?
Are your computers on one segment or are they all on the same segment?

You do not need to have the computer browser service running in order to
browse. The computer browser server allows the computer to take place in
the browser election. Browsing is always based off of WINS and/or
broadcasts. You can set the domain master (which by default should be the
domain controller) to always win the browser election by a registry setting.

hklm\system\ccs\services\browser\parameters and set "isdomainmaster" to
"true" and "maintainserverlist" to "yes".

Can you check these values on the domain controller and see if you have a
different value?

Hi Shane,

I have only one server and it name is "server" , and it
is the Domain Controler , my settings in Advanced TCPIP
settings are :
WINS addresses in order to use
my_ip_server_address

Enable LMHOSTS lookup yes
Enable NetBios over TCP/IP yes

All my computers and the server are connected in the same
HUB.

I check to the values that you asked me and the values are
right.

Other Tip..

Tanks

Hello,

How many protocols are in place within this LAN?
Make sure TCP is bound above the other protocols.

Are any of these machines multihomed?

How many clients are we talking about?
