Ok a weird one. My system was working fine on Win2k, but there were some
functions I wanted that weren't supported, so I upgraded to XP. Everything
SEEMED to go fine. A few days later I was using a program I had been using
for a long time, and rather than use the visual TREE on the left side to
navigate, I clicked the "Browse" button. DESKTOP! No warning, no error
message, I was just dropped to my desktop. Very repeatable. I thought itt
was just that program, as everything else was working fine, so I worked
arround the problem.

Now a different program, different author, different use, that I hadn't run
since before the upgrade, is showing the same problem. I can navigate using
the tree, or selecting things in a box, but if I select the "browse" button,
DESKTOP.

I ran a "registry cleanup" program and it fixed lots of other weirdness, but
the Browse function is still broken.

My system is realatively clean, NOD32 antivirus, Windows defender, Pivot
software for my portrat monitor and a screensaver.

Where do I start looking for this problem

Reinstall the Apps?
And / or check authors sites for updates / bugs XP related

I looked arround for other applications that had a "browse" button rather
than building a file list automatically.... Ever application I tried that
had a specific "Browse" button behaved the same...DESKTOP. The only one I
could find that gave me an error message was Winzip, and it complained about
IBSDLL which I could not find much on, other than a possible virus, which was
NOT found when I did a deep scan.

Reloading every app that has a "BROSE" button is not an option. I am
confident (not sure) that it is a corrupt/missmatched DLL but don't know who
to go about finding it.
