I have purchased the subject model(MFC 98XX) and
configured on Xp SP1 to receive faxes. The XP receives
faxes once or twice, and then the Fax keeps on ringing for
subsequent messages without XP responding. I tried with
both USB and parallel connections to the same effect. The
situation seems that XP stops recognizing the fax inputs.
Brother support engineers are yet to give a solution on
this. Any Help

If you are not using XP's fax service to send/receive faxes so that the MFP
device appears as a modem to the fax service, your best option is to work
with the Brother engineers to figure out a solution to your problem.
