I seem to have a problem when I try to copy documents on the flat bed
scanner on my printer. The scanner doesn't move but there's noise coming
from the ADF(there's always noise coming from it when I try to scan, copy).

The same thing even happens when the computer is switched off.

I also get the same display coming up on the printer when everything
stops...

Document Jam
Clear the scanner jam then press the Stop Key.

I have done this a number of times and I have the same problem???

Also if I want to scan a document to the computer using the printer I
get the same display coming up.

On the computer a pop up screen appears with the following:

Scanning failed

But a pop up screen comes on my computer with

Please try to scan the image again, if the error happens again please
restart your computer, and then try to scan again.

(CC031)

I have also done this a number of times?????

I can copy using the ADF but it's not a good copy.... also if I copy to
the computer using Paint and the flat bed scanner works???

Why can't I get the flat bed scanner to work on it's own without having
to use the computer?????

help

brian
