I've had a Brother HL-4070CDW color laser for a little over a year and
have enjoyed using it. However, two problems have developed.
1. What is the best way to clean off the drums? On the prior
brothers I had I frequently cleaned the drum with an alcohol swab that
worked just fine but it doesn't work as well on the 4070, and there
are 4 of them. The replacement cost is well over $100.
2. Is there some way to bypass their copy counter? Two weeks ago I
got a message that all 3 color cartridges needed to be replaced. This
is really strange since I probably haven't printed more than 20,000
sheets total, 99% BLACK ONLY. I may have printed 100-200 color in
all that time. It also seems they must be deciding on some sort of
count rather on how much toner is left.
Any help will be appreciated. It may be cheaper just to buy a new one
for a 300-400 dollars.
