Having problems with my printer. I have gone by the instructions for
clearing a paperjam, and the ready and alarm light continue to blink in the
control panel. The printer still acts like it has a paper jam, eventhough
all paper apparently has been cleared. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Rickey
Likely problem is that a paper sensor still has a small piece of paper stuck in
or around it or a sensor arm got jammed when removing the paper. Where was the
paper jam? Rear or front of the printer? I assume you have lifted up the rear
access cover and removed any paper there?
This printer has a number of self diagnosis aids.
Turn the power to the printer off, open the front cover and remove the drum
unit/toner cartridge.
Press and hold the control panel button (you can access it just below the
LED's), turn power on and release the button when the Drum light comes on.
Lightly press the button again, if the Alarm LED comes on the front
registration sensor is activated.
Press the button briefly once more, if the Drum LED is on the paper eject
sensor (at the rear of the printer) is activated.
Let me know which sensor is activated and we can go from there.

I once cleared a similar problem in a different make printer by poking around the
sensor with a paintbrush.
