Brother HL-1020 problems

I have a dead Brother HL-1020 printer. The Alarm and Ready lights flash when
I turn it on. I looked it up in the manual and it says "Service A". Any idea
what that means?

It's an old printer so I really don't want to take it in for service, but
that error code tells me nothing!
