I wonder if anyone has experienced this problem (or similar).
Situation:-
Peer to peer networking using Avery Design Pro 2000.
Ethernet network, printer connected via bi-directional parallel port.
Was:-
Printing labels from Win98SE m/c -> Win95 m/c -> Brother Printer using
HP4L emulation
Changed to:-
Printing labels from Win98SE m/c -> WinXP Home m/c -> Brother Printer
using HP4L emulation
We've changed our office around to make use of Win XP machine that
wouldn't talk to anything but a Win 98 m/c.
Problem: we send a whole batch of labels to the Brother printer, but
printer stops after approximately 38 pages (of labels at 21 per page) no
residual data anywhere, & have to enter the software and reprint from
page 39 onwards.
This does not seem to be a problem so far with other multipage documents
from Excel & Word (but we haven't done any big ones yet.
Why are we using HP4L emulation? Because either the printer or the
software doesn't recognise CRLF in the Brother mode (not a happy
situation when printing labels 3 abreast!), so have to use PCL5
emulation as we had set up for HP4L.
All suggestions welcome!! (and no I haven't posted this to a network
group.)
Thanks
Mike
