Hi

MS Frontpage 2002

I copied a Word document including many pictures (music
scores) into Frontpage.
Everything OK, all the pictures are there.
However when I put the Frontpage doc on the web, none of
the pictures come out.
I know this phenomenon. I guess I should FTP the
pictures apart on the web.
However the problem is that I don't have these pics
separate anymore, they are only in my Word doc.
How can I transfer a Word doc to Frontpage and put it on
the web PICS INCLUDED.

Best

Probably, your images are no longer .jpg, .gif, or .png, which means they
will not display in most browsers. It's sad that you no longer have the
originals - have you considered doing screenshots and then saving in an
appropriate web format?

Thinking further into your issue, if you have the full Adobe Acrobat
program, you could convert your Word document to .pdf format, then upload it
to your web and hyperlink it - that way, you wouldn't have to salvage the
original images...

There are also free versions of programs that create pdf's from MS Word
docs. I use PDF995, which installs as a printer. The only drawback is
the pdf's can't be edited, and every time you create one, an ad opens
inyour browser. But for the cost (free), I put up with those problems.

Thanks Teri,

Coming back specifically to the question.
Is there a possibility of putting a Frontpage doc with
the Pics included in the document, in one FTP transfer.
That means:not to have to transfer the pics apart, put
them in a folder, transfer the folder to the web,
transfer the frontpage doc to the web, then eventually
creating a link from the frontpage doc to the pictures.

You need to File Import the images into your FP web
and set the images to link to w/i the web, not to your hard disc

Even though it will create bulk code, in Word use File Save as Web page
Then File Import the .htm File and associated folder (w/ images in it) into your FP web

No. HTML pages only have link to external content, only thing on a page is text.
