Briefcase replica becomes orphane when remote synchronization is t

I follwed the workaround in KB307885 article but when I tried to copy the
original file to briefcase I got the following error and the file dissapeared.
"Briefcase can't make an additional replica at C:\Documents and
settings\...\*.mdb. The field is too small to accept the amount of data you
attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data."

Any input would be appreciated.
