Bridging Token Ring Network w/ Ethernet Network

I have a laptop that has an ethernet connection. I would
like to add this laptop to the network but do not have
available token ring connections. There is a desktop
machine that is connected to the network by token ringt
that has both a token ring connection and ethernet
connection.

In theory it seems that bridging the two network
connections on the desktop machine then connecting a
wireless ethernet adapter would allow me to connect to
the network using my laptop with the wireless ethernet
adapter.

I have been unsuccessful in setting this up. I also have
tried setting the Token Ring adapter to do ICS, in order
to get Internet connection I can set the IP manually but
every couple of days I have to manually reconfigure the
IP. This is not very practical.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks
