Hello,
I have a windows 2003 server with a pci raid controller. I have configured a
RAID 1 (disk mirroring). The system is ok, no trouble : the raid 1 works
fine.. BUT i would like to break this raid 1 (i need all the pci controller
for network card) and keep the windows 2003 installation (it's the most
important).
How to do it ?
my idea : I am going to remove the raid 1 controller and put the harddisk
directly on the ide controller of the motherboard. After I am going to boot
with the windows 2003 cdrom and reinstall the system (with no formating). Is
this way the good way ??? Will 2003 be so strong to works fine after ??
Thanks for helping me fast

Bye !

Personally I think it a terrible idea to give up disk fault tolerance.

Your plan will work ONLY if the ide controller sees the drive the same
way the raid controller does.
