My friend bought a brand new Hewlett Packard Pavilion
a302x-b Minitower Bundle with an Intel Celeron Processor,
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. However, he's having
problems with the set-up. He says,

"When you first turn on the computer you have to
initialize and setup and all that other stuff. It tells
me to click the next button so I do and nothing happens.
I know that the mouse and keyboard are working because you
have to use them briefly to move to the set-up screen."

He also said that the "Next" button is not even lit up. I
have not personally looked at the computer yet, but he
also says that there doesn't appear to be anything else on
the screen to do or accomplish. It just hangs up there
from the beginning. Has anyone else run into this
problem? Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Just a postscript to this problem. I did look at the
computer over the weekend. The "next" button did light up
when you put the mouse over it, but clicking the mouse did
nothing. Turned it off, then back on and used the "Tab"
key and tabbed over to the "next" button, hit "enter" and
it worked perfectly after that.
