I'm looking for an application which will sniff traffic from an NIC and
will show me a list of IPs and bp/s throughput.

Try EtherReal. It's free, and works pretty well.

Ethereal is an excellent package for sniffing, but does not monitor
bandwidth between specific hosts. PRTG will monitor bandwidth, but will not
track specific connections directly. Ethereal is open source an free. PRTG
has a free one-sensor version, and pricing is very reasonable depending on
what yhou need.
