This doesn't make sense. MSFT has a running deal if you can demonstrate
you're a student to get Office for $59. You can't beat that.

Yes and most ORDINARY users don't even know what Access is......never mind
USE it....so that's a spurious comment, isn't it?

I don't use Access for anything. Openoffice works perfectly well
for typical real world tasks.

My brother just installed Ubuntu and the first thing he did was test
Open Office 3.01 with a data base he made with Access. Worked perfectly.

Perhaps you, too, should test before you stick your foot in your mouth
again.

Yeah, it will work with mixed results. Anyone that says openoffice works
the same as Office, has obviously never used Office. There are many
differences and they don't work the same nor do they open the same files
the same way.

I rather doubt many 'students' require Access database.
