I bought a store display laptop with Windows Vista already up and running.
Now every time I open a program it says "Welcome OfficeDepot". I've already
changed the name in the control panel/usernames, but when I look in C: Users
it says Office Depot and I can't just right click it and rename it.

thanks
Tim

I'd restore the hard disk to the original factory condition before doing
anything else. You never know what else Office Depot or other customers
have done to your computer.

Just create a new user with the name of your choice. After you are up and
running with your new logon name, you can delete the Office Depot username
and profile.

They sold you a store display running Vista so soon?

Interesting.

I suppose that same laptop was running XP at the store a month ago.

Yeah, I'd "slick" that box... do a clean install and reformat the HD during
install.
