Had to reinstall Windows XP Professional and resulted in having to connect
via the cable to download drivers for the wireless network card.
Once the drivers for the wireless network card were installed and working I
noticed that I have been running with the computer having both a physical
and wireless connection to the router.

Is there any advantage to this?
Does it make downloads any faster?
Should I just disable one?

Thanks!

Not usually as most ISP's disable multiple connections, of course it may
work differently your side of the pond
If multiple connections are allowed they would need to be synchronised
