You can bypass the sysprep problem using the boot disk set.
Using the WinXP Boot floppy set:

What were you thinking of doing once you reached that stage? I would
probably shoot for the "safe mode with command prompt" and run the
rstrui.exe file in the \windows\system32\restore folder instead.
