Hello!
My computer bootup stops at
"Updating ESCD ...
Building DMI Pool ."
in 7 seconds after turning on. How to make my computer bootup?
My mainboard is Chaintech 6btm. Reseting BIOS to default settings did
not help.
Best regards,
Dima

Have you added a new piece of hardware, or extra memory? If so, then try
without it.

Usually this occurs when the system files
(io.sys/msdos.sys/command.com) on the HDD have become corrupt.

Haven't seen it happen since Win9x days where a simple sys c: from a
Win9x boot disk would sort it out.

Thanks Pete Ives for your suggestion!
I have not added a new piece of hardware or extra memory.
Best regards,
Dima

Yeah, looking at things again, I would imagine that the reason its
saying 'Updating ESCD' is because, when you reset the BIOS, something
was enabled by default (such as onboard LAN for instance) that hadn't
been enabled previously.

Not saying that's what's causing it to stall, though.
