When booting Dell Dimension 4600 PC, I get black screen with white lettering
asking which operating system to load and there are two identical options:
Windows XP Home Edition. How can I remove one of these and boot straight to
Windows as with my other PC's?

Right click on the My Computer icon and select properties/advanced/Startup
and Recovery/settings and untick the box which says "time to display list of
operating systems"

Thanks. What caused it to appear in the first place?

Hi Mark,

As to the second Operating System is not a real Operating System but might
be created in the
installation process, or something corrupted of the Boot.ini file.

Please feel free to let me know if you still have further question on this
specific question.

Sincerely,
Carsyn Gu
