Recently my computer has been acting up, when I boot it up
it goes through all the screens as normal, but the first
windows xp screen with the bar that moves across the
screen, after that loads my screen goes blank and nothing
happens. The logon screen doesn't come up it just goes
blank, however when I start my computer up in SafeMode it
boots up just fine. My second hard drive seems to be
going bad because S.M.A.R.T comes up and says that the
drive has bad sectors and needs to be replaced. These two
problems could be linked as they happened at the same
time. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Backup the second hard drive as soon as possible and replace it.

I realize that much but the problem of booting up the pc
still is a problem, it's not much good if I can't boot up
normally.

You should be able to backup in SafeMode.
