boot xp in xp

Hi
i have 2 HDDs and i have windows XP installed on both but one is not working
so i want to know can i boot it when i am already on windows XP
i.e. on windows on the working HDD then boot up the other one

You can boot one or the other; but you can't boot them both at the same time.

the only time you can boot
multiple operating systems
is by using windows virtual
pc or virtual box.

however, the above method
won't help with your issue.

what you can do is to use the
functional pc or the win xp cd
to repair the dys functional one.

but you haven't mentioned
what exactly is the problem
you are experiencing

A virtual machine like VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/) might
work, but if the other XP is broken, it's not going to work in a VM any
more than it would work natively.

Do you know why the other XP isn't working? Or is it just not booting,
etc.

If you need to recover data off of it, there are ways to do that without
booting it.
