I aborted a re-install of windows XP, and since then
whenever I re-boot the machine it gives me a choice of
continuing with the set-up or going with windows as
installed. So, how do I get rid of the set-up option as
if I'm not there to choose, it automatically goes to the
set-up (I do not have the CD in the drive)

Remove the option in your boot.ini file
