Hello people,

When I start up my computer most times the system hang in the boot. The only
way to make him go is to push the reset button. If the computer is finally
running, there are no more problems. He's working perfect.

Sometimes I receive this message:

During the last boot-up, your system hung for an improper cpu speed setting.
Your system is now working in safe mode. To optimise the system performance
and reliability, make sure the cpu speed conforms to the specifications of
your cpu.

When I checked the cpu speed setting, there's nothing wrong with that!

When I use an older bios configuration (1011 or older) than I have no
problems with booting??????

Still I want to use the latest bios update, because my system is now very
stabile, except the problems with start up.

Info:

- Motherboard Asus A7V8X

- newest bios update (1014 beta)

- the power cable on the motherboard is installed correctly

- the jumpers at the motherboard are all standing in the default
position

- bios: memory frequency; auto (1 module pc 2700, 512 MB, installed)

- bios: cpu V core setting; auto

- Cpu: AMD 2400+ (6.8.1) 133 Mhz working with 2000 Mhz

- Windows XP prof.

A beta, bios, means just that - its not guarenteed stable or fault free, as
youve found. Revert to old bios untill stable release of later version.
There are those that suggest not updating a bios unless the update resolves
/ enhances yr specific setup
