Remove the side panels from both cases. If his hard drive uses a ribbon
cable and your CDRom drive uses one, normally the cable will be long enough
that you can remove the devices from your cable and with his machine sitting
right next to yours, you can attach your cable to his hard drive. His hard
drive will be jumpered as master so with it being the only device on your
cable, a jumper pin change will not be required. Power up both machines and
you should be able to access his drive using Windows Explorer on your
machine. If the cable is not long enough, you can remove his hard drive
from the case and sitting it on its end outside your case, attach the ribbon
cable and a power cable from your machine.
