Hi -- There are these terribly annoying "upgrade" requests that happen during
boot up from places like Adobe and Palm, questioning whether I want to
install their latest upgrade. Does anyone know where I find these obnoxious
applets so I can get rid of them? Thanks. --- David

Open the program doing the asking, look through the program's menus,
find the setting that checks for updates, turn it off.
