Boot up from disk

      9th May 2007
When i try to bootup using xp disc i get msg to remove disk and restart. What
could be prob.If i remove and reinsert get same msg.

Did you go in the BIOS and set the Boot order so that it boots to the CD
first?

      9th May 2007
ok bios set correctly. It goes thru checking memory etc. then stops with
error msg. remove disk and restart. No disk in anywhere.

in addition checking in bios shows ide master not installed.

Does the computer boot at all, like with the hard drive? Go in the BIOS
again and ensure that the devices on the IDE controllers are properly
recognized and that they are enabled. Reseat the IDE cables and the
power connectors to the IDE drives.
