Hi Everyone,

Can someone recoomend a few different ways to decrease the boot time in
Vista? I sometimes wait 10-12 minutes for the computer to start up and log
onto our wireless work network.

That long a delay shows that something is definitely wrong.
Unfortunately, we don't have enough information to give you focused
help. Review these links to see what details you need to include in a
newsgroup post:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 - How to Ask a Question

Here are some general troubleshooting steps:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

If the computer is virus/malware-free, do a clean boot to find out what
is causing the delay:

Also note that if this computer is a member of a domain, long startup
delays are usually caused by having the wrong DNS settings. In a domain,
the DNS server always looks to itself for DNS with forward/reverse
lookup zones set for Internet access. Workstations must only look to the
server for DNS.
