When I start up, the programmes load in a random order. Is there a way to
select an order that will stay permanently?

Hi,

No, not from within Windows. Where a program loads from partially determines
when it loads, but ones within that particular point in the startup axis can
start in any order. You'd have to disable them all, then write a batch file
that starts them in the order you want and either drop it in the startup
folder or launch it yourself. Doing this may not be a good idea as some need
to launch at a certain point in the startup to be effective, or to be able
to update properly.

Thanks for that. Widows sidebar sometimes starts before the internet
connection and the gadgets don't work till later. Maybe there's a way of
disabling sidebar and have it start last????

Hi,

I am familiar with that little quirk, and it's because most network adapters
don't initialize very quickly under Vista. Basically, the only option there
would be to disable it completely and manually initiate the gadget bar after
a connection is established.
