Anyone seen UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_RECORD on bootup for an XP
Thinkpad. Probably dead drive but unsure. We have no
floppy drive and no setup options work when booting from
the CD

If, when you boot from a WinXP CD and you are not getting any response
from the hard drive then it's probably toast.
Did you look on IBM's support website for any info?
