It seems that there is considerable confusion about the exact
location of your WinXP installation. You need to ascertain
where it is before you can resolve your problem. In the line
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(x)partition(y)\WINNT
rdisk(x) describes which disk the installation is on,
partitition(y) gives the partition number on that disk and
WINNT gives the actual folder.
You should know yourself if WinXP is installed on the first
or the second partition.
You can experiment with y. It's usually 1, sometimes 2.
The folder is usually WINDOWS for WinXP. Boot the
machine with a boot disk from
www.bootdisk.com, then
run ntfsdos.exe from
www.sysinternal.com. This will give
you read-only access to your NTFS partition. You can
now find out the exact folder name.
