Ok I know this is not the right group to post this in but
I can really find the right group.

Anyways here is my problem as of this morning one of our
computer has decided to start having problems booting, it
will go through the boot just fine till it reaches the
final windows start up window then instead of load the
login screen everything goes black with only the pointer
(which you have fun control of) but nothing else (just a
black screen and a white arrow) and nothing short of
hitting the power button will get you out of there.

Can anyone help or have any ideas of what is going on?

thanks for any help you might have,
Kim

Try booting into last know good configuration to see if that helps [use F8 while
booting to bring up start up menu] . If that does not work try safe mode. If
safe mode works you have a problem with a startup application/service/driver
that you can use msconfig [from an XP computer] to troubleshoot by selectively
disabling startup programs. If none of that works consider an upgrade install
which will require to first install service pack and then critical updates.
Don't rule out virus problem either. --- Steve
