I have a PC which initially ran Win 98 and subsequently had W2K
installed onto another drive partition so that it now has Win 98 on
the C: drive and W2K on the G drive and now has Dual Boot .
Recently I've been having problems with sound - there is no sound
coming out of the speakers .The sound card and its associated software
are also installed in G drive and I also noticed that this partition
is almost completely full .There have also been one or two error
messages appearing with MS Office Apps which are also installed in
this same partition.
Could the fact that this partiton being almost full is causing these
symptoms ? I seem to have read somewhere that an OS like W2K needs to
have some "breathing room " to allow normal operation of the swap file
etc .
Further , is there a way of removing Win 98 from the C drive and
replacing it there with W2K without reformating the entire drive -
There is a LOT of my grandsons music files on the other partitons on
this drive which , if they disappeared during these proposed changes ,
would not make me the most popular grandfather !
