Are there any freeware boot manager that will let me boot from slave
drives? CD as well as hard disk.

Preferably on a floppy disk.

I have used http://btmgr.webframe.org/ to boot CDs on computers too old
to support boot from CD. Should do the trick just fine.

Don't think it will run from a floppy though.

It doesn't - but if version 1.15 is installed it contains 'Smartboot',
which allows booting from a CD.
