Alright..I sent my laptop to Gateway to replace my DC-In connection and when
I got it back I reformatted it (just cause it needed it) and Upon boot up I
get this message "Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent GE
v1.2.40..................PXE-E05: The Lan Adapters configurationis corrupted
or has not been initialized. The boot agent cannot continue." And when I
try to reformat anyways...it takes forever, and I mean forever to load the
recovery files from the cd. I kinda googled it and I thought maybe it was a
BIOS thing that I should upgrade...but im not to sure how to flash the bios
without an OS installed. Any help with this problem would be great. I have
a Gateway NX860XL. <--if that matters. Thanks a lot.

It is a "BIOS thing" but nothing you need to upgrade. The machine is
looking for the boot files on the network and naturally they don't
exist. Go into the BIOS and change the boot order to something like
CD/DVD drive first, hard drive second. If security is an issue, make the
boot order hard drive first and optical drive second.

Ah thanks....I knew about the changing orders, but I didnt think that would
have anything to do with the error message I was getting. Thanks a lot for
the help. And I updated to the most recent BIOS from Gateway just to be
safe, even though your right, I didnt need it.....better safe than sorry.
Thanks for your help.

You're most welcome. I'm glad that sorted it for you. Thanks for taking
