I have a Compaq computer tha t came with a recovery partition. I removed the
recovery partition and when I start my system it still ask me if I want to
start in Recovery console or Windows XP. What All should I remove from
Boot.ini file?

[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect

I kinda have an idea but don't want to screw anything up. Thanks for any
advice.

How were you thinking of repairing or restoring your computer without the
recovery partition? Did Compaq give you a set of recovery CDs?

No,when you set up your computer you have the option of creating your own
recovery cd's. Then you can remove that partition and add the space to C

That's good to know. Sorry I can't help with your original question. Try
reposting with a somewhat different subject line so people won't think your
question has been answered.

Go to the RUN box and type MSCONFIG.. click on the boot.ini tab and check
the boot paths.. remove this part:

C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons
