I would just like to know if the following bootfiles for
the respective OSs are correct.

Windows 98/ME - io.sys, autoexec.bat, command.com,
msdos.sys, and one more which I cannot recollect.

Windows 2000/XP - ntldr, boot.ini, ntdetect.com,
hiberfil.sys, pagefile.sys, ntbootdd.sys, and one more
which I cannot recollect.

regards and thanks
David

I cannot answer on the DOS family systems.
The NT family on x86 Intel and Amd processors
requires only ntldr, ntdetect.com, and boot.ini
but may need ntbootdd.sys in some cases for
booting from older scsi hardware
The above are needed boot-time files.
Of the others you mention, NT family OSs
will create pagefile.sys as needed during boot
will create hiberfil.sys when hibernating
