I just bought a refurb HP pavilion a220n. It worked great
for a week. yesterday I went to start it and when I
pushed the power button, everything sounded and looked
normal. fans came on, etc. it got about 10-20 sec into
the boot process then everything went dead, it is like
someone pulled the plug, but the power button light and
some of the other power lights stay on. Fans and all
other signs of power gone. I've tried it about 30 times
since and it seems to have gotten worse. now it only
lasts for about 3 seconds then shuts down. It isn't even
on long enough to see any errors. I'm convinced it is a
power issue, but I did install some stuff that could have
had a virus the day it went bad.
please help

As you have only had it for a week, take it back to where you purchased it..
