HI All,

I have been using XP Embedded with SP1 from the past 6 months. I did not
face any problems in that.

Last week i have added SP2 as per the guidelines. Today i have built the
image with same components which i have used in SP1. I have upgraded to SP2.
After building the image, i have got 0x0000007B error. After adding SP2 only
i am getting this error.

Please advice me on this regards. Help needed.

Regards
Prem

The 0x7B stop means there is a bad or missing driver during start-up.
"Missing Critical Boot Device"
That will mean that the FBA processing will not have started yet and there
isn't
going to be an fbalog.txt file to look at.

Check your Device Driver for the Boot Device (SATA, SCSI, ....)
and recompile.

Here two way to find the problem:

- Find "CriticalDeviceDatabase" registry in System Hive.

- Try and get kernel mode debug output on a serial port and see what that
leads to.
There are some articles in the MSDN docs on how to do it.

GL,
U can easily do that.
Just click on the componenets in the target designer and click UPGRADE. Buy
doing that ur entire componets will be upgraded to SP2

Regards
Hussain

Hussain,
But I think I should download something for this right?

I have Xpe SP1 in my TD database; I believe I should download something
from MS that contains all the SP2 Udated components; or I'm wrong?
Thanks

GL.

Hi GL

You need to download the SP2 update.
If you have the Eval-version, downlaod it from the
public MS embedded website.
www.msdn.microsoft.com/embedded

or for the full version, visit the secure OEM site with
your OEM CLA agreement number:

https://embeddedoem.com
