Folks:

I am looking for great software (preferably shareware or freeware) to create
a BOOT DVD that should also contain all the applications on my hardrive.
Essentially this DVD should contain a CLONE of the harddrive & be BOOTABLE
at the same time.
I would like to be able to do a SYSTEM RESTORE if/when necessary.

Thanks in advance,
Jo.

Can't be done unless you have a very small hard drive or one with very
little of its capacity in use..

Do what you want using either an extra internal hard drive or an
external USB hard drive.

A Bart PE boot CD is probably the closest you can get. It's
a great maintenance tool but it won't run your applications.

in addition to the freeware
called bartspe to make a
boot up dvd

you can also use the freeware
called driveimagexml to backup
your data using the disk image method.

when you install bartspe and download
driveimagexml, be sure to also download
the driveimagexml plugin.

bartspe will have provide you with the
options to include the plugin into
the preinstallation dvd.....

Get drive imaging software, such as Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost,
Terabyte Unlimited Image for Windows or BootIT NG. Image the drive(s) to an
external USB drive (preferable) or DVD. For Acronis True Image the program
CD is bootable if the system can't boot.
