Today when I went to turn on the computer it went to a black screen that
said select boot drive and press key.
I went into the bios and checked and it appears that the boot drive had been
moved to the bottom of the boot drive order list. The boot drive shares the
primari ide controller with a cd drive.
Once I changed it it was OK, but what could cause the computer to do this on
its own?
There are 4 hard drives in the system and only one of them is Pata, the
other three are Sata.
Could this be a virus issue or something else?
Thanks for any advice.

You write "I went into the bios". The BIOS has nothing
to do with Windows, hence a hardware newsgroup might
be a better place to ask than a Windows group.

I have a Windows application that downloads and flashes my ABit KV8-MAX3
bios. I did my last update that way. If an application can flash bios via
Windows I believe a virus could also.
