Body tex disappears after clicking on the SEND button

It seems like whenever I attempt to send an e-mail with an open pdf file as
an attachment. I get the following error message "The operation failed due
to network or other communication problems. Check your connection and try
again". and text on the Email disappears. Have you seen anything like that?
