Hey, XP Embedded rocks!! <grin>

Funny thing is I was just recommending the other day to Nick White, our
community rep for all Embedded products, that WEPOS needs a proper home in
the newsgroups, hopefully we'll see it soon. Until then, feel free to post
any WEPOS questions here.

Andy

Andy thank you for the reply and I hope the other folks wont mind sharing
this space meanwhile.

POS folk can be a little rowdy ;-)

Can one instal MS Office on this OP System?
Do you know if one can order a POS device from an OEM with this pre loaded?
Also could you tell me if it is available on MSDN?

Andy I am sorry for not doing more of the leg work.

Hi Rowdy!

:-))

There are ALPs available for WePOS (Aditional License Provisions).
Normally, the ALPs are attached on the licenses envelope whne you buy
WePOS licenses (hopfully from AVNET...) #griiiiien.
I can send you the ALPs as .pdf per mail if you want.
There, the term "Embedded System" is defined.
If your Embeddd POS System is using a part of the
Office pack, it's up to you.
Of course, you have to license the Office also... :-)

use (E-Mail Removed)
to contact me to get all the stuff.

Yes, there are sone companies with WePOS available
(Toshiba, IBM,.....)
There is a list available on a MS Presentation on that.

Availability on MSDN is negativ, yet!

Hi Martin and sorry for not posting a reply sooner.

I should first mention the great news...
microsoft.public.windows.embedded.pointofservice

Martin I have to admit at this point... I can't say I really understand what
you are talking about. But that's because I'm not even sure what embedded
means and implies.

I love Microsoft RMS SO and HQ and perhaps the POS software that works on
WEPOS as per the catalog.

Me... I would love to purchase and re sell... adding some value to the
process... a device that makes implementing the above solutions a breeze.

Can AVNET do this?

Martin thank you for your time and I hope to see you in the new board.
