Try power off (unplug),locate the CMOS jumper pin on the board, remove
the battery, then move jumper pin from 1-2 position to 2-3 position for .45
seconds or so,then back to 1-2 position,replace battery,power up pc.This
clears the CMOS,also, once it starts, you'll need to reset the BIOS,date, time,
and add in cards,etc...A BIOS update isnt required for this.

Just install the PCI video card and connect the monitor to it.

Most motherboards with on-board video will automatically disable it
when a video card is detected.

Note that if the motherboard has an AGP video slot you should use an
AGP card rather than a PCI one if possible.

Good luck

No post, and no detected video can mean a few things. The onboard video may
be defective, and another that the configuration data is shot so it can't
post or display video (neither one).

Try removing the cmos battery (if it has one) for a few minutes. Unplug the
PC from the wall AC outlet while doing this. Most onboard video have bios
that will cue either PCI, or onboard/AGP cards. That could be a dilemma.

It is very easy to know that this problem is NOT a virus. Viruses require
Windows in order to get themselves running. You have stated that there is no
POST or BIOS screens that display. This is a hardware problem since the POST
and BIOS screen occur before Windows starts.
